The International children’s art project “Temple of my town”

The aims of the project are as follows:

stimulation of the interest of the rising generation to the history of the native land, country; spiritual and moral enlightenment of children; development of the creative perception of the world and abilities; acquaintance with historical and cultural monuments of Russia and foreign countries.

The main task of the project is organization and holding of the travelling exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

The project "Temple of my town" is not only artistic, but informative and educational as every child’s picture is accompanied by concise description of the history of a town and a temple.

The project "Temple of my town" has its charitable history. One of the orientations of the activity on the organization of the exhibitions presupposes visits to orphanages, where the organizer of the project narrates about children, who send pictures about their towns and temples. It attracts lively interest of inmates of orphanages and broadens their outlook perfectly.

The International children’s art project "Temple of my town" started in May, 2007 and at present children from 6 to 14 years old from 28 the biggest regions of Russian Federation participate in it. Each region provides art studio with 5–6 works.

We propose to your Arts School, Art Studio taking part in our project.

We are interested in temples of different confessions existing in the region.

Especial attention should be paid to the destroyed, but not reconstructed yet temples. It would be nice to express a power of imagination in order to picture up what it could be like.

Every young artist gets a diploma, and teachers and directors of the schools get personal letters of thanks for the private contribution to the spiritual and moral upbringing of children of the rising generation.

The best works will be placed in the booklets, calendars and, as far as possible, in the special edition "Temples of Russia in the eyes of children" and "Temples of the world in children’s opinion."

The exhibitions have already been held in Moscow, Novosibirsk, the Crimea. Next big exhibition in Moscow will take place in May — June. In Stavropol it will take place in March. At the end of March the exhibition will be demonstrated during the children’s festival in Moscow. In August the exhibition is moving to the USA. In September the exhibition is planned to take place at the children’s festival. In addition, the travelling exhibition is permanently demonstrated during different actions in orphanages, hospitals, giving faith and hope to those who are in need.
